Listen to March’s EL SONIDO: Radio Show

61 minutes, 18 artists, 14 tracks and one minor technical glitch – time to enjoy March’s EL SONIDO: radio show!

This month’s journey through the world of jazz, hip-hop and electronic music aims to showcase the talents of some the most exciting young artists from the UK, Europe and beyond.

March’s EL SONIDO: radio show begins with the smooth vocals and gentle sax of the immensely talented Laura Misch (Tom Misch’s younger sister and occasional collaborator) and culminates in Puma Blue’s stirring, emotional ‘Only Trying 2 Tell U’.

In the fifty-something minutes in between, Wu-Lu, Skinny Pelembe and JD Reid immediately catch the ear with their genre-defying, hip-hop-influenced production, while there’s also upbeat jazz from UK stalwarts Ezra Collective, Blue Lab Beats and Joe Armon-Jones.

An engaging blend of live instrumentation and electronic production comes to fore in Maxwell Owin’s remix of Nubya Garcia’s ‘Source’, and elsewhere in the playlist there’s escapism in the form of the warm, Latin and Caribbean-influenced sounds of K15, Zoom Soon Bao and GODTET.

You can stream the show below and you can also find it on the La Radio website.
