La Radio to Host Monthly EL SONIDO: Show

From November 2017, you’ll be able to enjoy the latest jazz, hip-hop and electronic releases courtesy of EL SONIDO: and La Radio.

In an exciting new partnership, Barcelona-based online radio station La Radio will host a monthly EL SONIDO: show. The programme will be aired through La Radio’s website (www.laradio.live) and will also be available for a free download via Soundcloud and through the La Radio app.

What to expect

The seed for EL SONIDO: was planted while preparing to record an edition of the short-lived MLeafe’s Beats on Wednesday show back in the spring of 2016.

Back then, the programme focused on showcasing the latest hip-hop releases. Most of the music came from the US, with the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Joey Bada$$, Earl Sweatshirt and Oddisee all featuring prominently.

Now, 18 months down the line, our partnership with La Radio is going to give us a new platform to share the sounds of EL SONIDO:

With our new show there’s going to be a slight change of direction. Yes, expect to hear some of the best new hip-hop releases, but above all expect to be wowed by the creativity of today’s most exciting jazz and electronic musicians.

Incredible new releases from established names such as Portico Quartet, Floating Points and Zara MacFarlane will feature alongside up-and-coming acts like Ezra Collective, Alfa Mist and 30/70.

Once a month, in the hour-long EL SONIDO: show, you’ll be able to enjoy the most creative and exciting new jazz, hip-hop and electronic music from the UK, Europe and beyond. And, if one hour a month just isn’t enough, you can follow the EL SONIDO: Spotify playlist, where you’ll find all of the music that inspires us.
